(Yahoo!) - The legendary George Jones has been forced to cancel two of his upcoming live dates as a result of being hospitalized on Thursday.
Jones, 81, was admitted to a Nashville-area facility after a routine checkup revealed he was running a slight fever with irregular blood pressure, according to a post on his official website.
The canceled shows are this weekend in Atlanta and Salem, Va. There is no word yet on when Jones plans to make up the dates. His next show will be April 27 in Huntsville, Ala.
Jones most recently pulled out of a performance due to health issues in November, when a respiratory infection halted plans in Minnesota. He also was hospitalized in May 2012--again, missing tour stops--for the same reason.
Jones's current tour is scheduled to be his last. He'll be playing the goodbye trek through November of this year.
