This picture, of a K9 dog mourning the loss of it's partner, has gone viral and leaves a lot of people wondering if dogs can feel the loss of a loved one...
Do dogs mourn the loss of their owners? They sometimes mope, but a dog’s emotions are a mystery. If you’re inclined to believe that dogs grieve over their fallen masters, there are plenty of anecdotes to support your view. Dogs sometimes wail plaintively at funerals, refuse to leave the cemetery, and even track down a deceased owner’s grave weeks after the death. The ASPCA conducted a study showing that two-thirds of dogs experience lethargy and loss of appetite after another dog in the household passes, suggesting that dogs are capable of mourning fellow canines, if not human companions. (Prozac is prescribed to deal with intractable canine grief.) Skeptics, however, believe they can explain these stories without attributing humanlike emotions to canines. Unfortunately, the only way to surmise a dog’s emotional state is through its behavior, which is variable and open to interpretation. How you answer this question has more to do with your preferred view of the inner lives of dogs than the evidence itself, which is inconclusive. SOURCE

This week's Top 6 artists performed on The Voice, and they were on fire! I don't know how we're possibly going to say goodbye to 1 contestant on Tuesday night, but at least it is in fact, only ONE artist departing tonight. Whew.
(Above: Who I voted for last night on Facebook)
Who do YOU think will go home? I have to go with Amber Carrington from Team Adam. I've predicted that she'd go for the last 3 weeks, and I think her time is finally up. Although, she did win a piece of my heard when she sang Patsy Cline, "Crazy."
We heard a LOT of country music last night on The Voice! One of my favorite performances of the night was Sasha Allens, "Before He Cheats." It sounded NOTHING like what Carrie Underwood does with the song! I was super impressed by Michelle Chamuel last night too.
Email me your thoughts on who will go home tonight at Jillene@WLLR.com and be sure to watch me on KWQC TV6 News at 5:00 tonight (Tuesday, 6/4/13) with my elimination predictions and more!

If you're planning a trip to Disney, you'd better start saving now! The prices have changed a bit, as outlined in the story below.
Will this deter you from visiting the park? Email me your thoughts at Jillene@WLLR.com!
The ultimate family vacation destination just raised its one-day, single park ticket price to $95 for adults at Orlando’s Disney World. But don’t worry, at least the kids get a discount. Their park pass is now a mere $89.
California’s Disneyland also raised its prices — $92 for adults and $86 for children.
And here we were complaining that $9.49 for that famous jumbo turkey leg was a lot of cash.
The changes went into effect Sunday and represent a $6 bump from the previous adult rate of $89 a day. So for a family of four, that means a single day of Space Mountain, Main Street U.S.A. and having the “Pirates of the Caribbean” theme song (yo, ho!) seared in your mind now costs $368, before tax.
Of course, that tally assumes you and your kids don’t want any food. Or Mickey-shaped souvenirs. If they do, it’s not unreasonable then to think that a day at Disney may carry a true cost of around $500.
There are still multiple-day discounts and options for a Park Hopper pass allowing your band of Mouseketeers to visit several Disney theme parks at a reduced rate. For instance, the three-day, multi-park pass for a family of four costs $862. Plus, we suppose you’ll then need somewhere to stay as well.

Today and tomorrow it's the 2013 QC PRIDE FEST!
To help residents with the cleanup from the severe weather on May 30, 2013 the City of Davenport will provide a special collection of tree debris and limbs where bundling is not required. This special collection will take place during the week of Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7, 2013 for city solid waste customers. The City will try to pick up storm damage on your regular collection day; however, due to the extensive amount of tree damage in some areas, the larger piles of tree debris may not be picked up until a later time. If you have storm damaged tree debris please call Public Works at 326-7732 and your address will be put on a list for pick up.
Residents should follow these basic requirements to help reduce costs:
1) Tree limbs do not need to be bundled. The city normally requires bundling, but due to the severity of the storm these requirements have been temporarily relaxed.
2) Tree limbs must be placed in orderly piles with the ends toward the street or alley, whichever is the resident's normal pick up location.
3) No tree limbs over 5 feet long (tree limbs must fit into the packer trucks).
4) No tree limbs over 6 inches in diameter (larger limbs can damage the trucks).
5) Small twigs and leaves must be placed in 2-ply kraft paper bags and do not need yard waste stickers during this week only.
6) Bags containing grass only must have city yard waste stickers.
The City of Davenport prefers that Davenport residents bundle their tree debris in order to serve the customers more efficiently and in a shorter amount of time. However, residents do not need to bundle tree limbs for this special collection. The Compost Facility is also available for "Free" tree limb and tree debris disposal for Davenport residents. The facility hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and weekends 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - call Compost 328-7225 for more information.
Residents with trees and very large limbs that have fallen down on private property should contact a private tree removal company.
Last night, Blake Shelton's benefit concert, "Healing in the Heartland," came together live on NBC. He had help from a ton of his friends, including Rascal Flatts, Usher, Vince Gill, Reba, and of course his wife, Miranda Lambert. Her performance of "The House That Built Me" was my favorite of the night. Check it out:
