Every day, among other things on Facebook, I check my friends' birthdays and send them a happy birthday wish. Well, today I'm saddened that on my list of birthdays is a friend who actually passed away a little over a year ago. I didn't feel comfortable writing a birthday note, but I did want to check out her page. What I found kind of stunned me... her page is still very much active, and there have been a LOT of people writing on her wall since she died. Honestly, since Facebook has been around, someone that I'm friends with has not passed, so this is the first time I've encountered something like this.
The anniversary of her death brought messages like:

And today, on her birthday, some friends are wishing her a happy birthday in heaven:
